Depth of the water, measured from the water level to the bottom; fish that are floating high in the water column, swim relatively close to the surface.

Wire cages: a fishing method using baited wire cages, traditionally made from chicken wire, that are placed on the seabed. The cages are baited with fresh or salted fish and designed to allow target species to enter but make it difficult for them to escape. Species caught using this method include crab, lobster, whelk, Norway lobster and octopus.
