Fishing for mussel seed without a Mussel Seed Capture Installation (MZI) is usually done with a traditional beamtrawl. This is not a very sustainable method as it has high impact on the seabottom.
Mussel seed is spread on seafloor parcels. Here they grow until they are big enough for consumption. Harvest is done with specialised trawlingnets.
