Fish Aggregating Devices are objects that are used to attract pelagic fish. The objects, also called floating objects, float on the water and are anchored by concrete blocks on the seabed. Floating objects attracts different fish species for various reasons, depending on the species. FADs are widely used in the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Ocean by purse seine fisheries, especially in tuna fishing.
