Chefs for Good Fish

Chefs for Good Fish

In our menuscan, consisting of 500 Dutch restaurants, we found out that 81% had fish on their menu with a red score on the VISwijzer. Because of these results, the Good Fish Foundation started up the ‘Chefs for Good Fish’ program to improve the amount of sustainable fish in the horeca. Nowadays, more than 500 restaurants are part of this program with the goal to make the fish on their menu more sustainable.

The Good Fish Foundation performs scans of restaurant menus regularly. By doing this, we make sure that our Good Fish restaurants always serve sustainable fish. Apart from that, we also give out free advice to restaurants when it comes to sustainability, using the VISwijzer as guidance.

However, the Chefs for Good Fish program focuses on more than just restaurants. Supermarkets, fish stores and wholesale markets are also included. These partners make it clear how sustainable their fish is, making it easy for customers to make a sustainable seafood choice.
